Leela & Cecilia (Barred Owls) - Tumbler 20oz

This fun feathered pair, Leela & Cecilia, were rescued by the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh.

Cecilia came from another rehabilitation center in 2014 as an adult. She had an injured left shoulder that required a full amputation of the wing. This is uncommon among Ambassador owls, but without the wing, she seems to be much more comfortable. Because she is permanently unable to fly, she will remain with the rescue as an Education Ambassador. She loves to perch high in her enclosure next to her best friend, Leela! 

Leela came in as a patient at the Wildlife Center in fall of 2018 after she was presumably hit by a car. While her injuries were able to be mended, her right eye appeared to have never formed properly. With only one functional eye, she was unable to pass all of her flight tests. Though she is fully flighted, she would not survive long in the wild. CeCe and Leela live together and love sharing a perch. In the wild, Barred Owls hang out in communities to raise their young together
